Suitable for all breeds of kittens, small cats, and large cats
There are a number of oral wormers available on the market that are used as a remedy for intestinal worms in cats, including Milbemax for cats. The meat flavor makes it easier for cats to take the medicine. This medicine not only kills all types of roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms in cats and kittens, but also eliminates all types of roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms. There is no doubt that it prevents both the juvenile and the mature stages of intestinal worms, thus protecting your pet against several diseases. Additionally, flavored tablets can also be used to prevent heartworms as well. Each tablet contains 16mg Milbemycin Oxime and 40mg Praziquantel. For cats >8 kg, a combination of tablets should be given, consistent with the recommended minimum dose.
It should be noted that the tablets contain two active ingredients: milbemycin oxime and praziquantel. Currently, there are two types of pesticides that disrupt nerve signals in invertebrates, thus killing larvae of heartworms, hookworms, and roundworms. It is believed that praziquantel works by causing muscle spasms, which cause tapeworms to disintegrate and die. Due to the combined effects of these two ingredients, intestinal worms and heartworms are effectively killed and controlled when used together.
Milbemax is available in two tablet formulations:
Milbemax for small cats that weigh between 0.5 and 2 kilograms
Milbemax for large cats that weigh between 2 and 8 kilograms
Check out the doseage chart below for extra information:
Cat Weight | Dosage |
0.5 1 kg | tablet Milbemax for small cats |
>1 2 kg | 1 tablet Milbemax for small cats |
>2 4 kg | tablet Milbemax for large cats |
>4 8 kg | 1 tablet Milbemax for large cats |
>8 kg | Combination of tablets consistent with recommended min dosage |
It is important to give Milbemax to small cats at the ages of 6, 8, and 12 weeks in order to treat intestinal worms in them. You should repeat this every three months after this. It is recommended that cats over the weight of 2kg are given Milbemax for cats at intervals of three months. This should also be the case for nursing queens who have just given birth. Do not give to kittens younger than 6 weeks of age and weighing less than 0.5 kg.
In order to prevent heartworm infection in your pet, check to see if he or she has already been infected. If the test results are negative, then administer one tablet per month, preferably on the same day each month. When a dose is missed, treat immediately and continue with monthly dosing.
The product is safe for breeding cats, and for pregnant and lactating queens as well. The product is generally considered to be safe for cats going through any of the reproductive stages.
